How To Make An Interactive Scrapbooking Layout

Don't we all love to look at an album where you can interact with the various different pages? What I mean by this is that some pages will have mini booklets to open, others you can pull tags and have something shoot out, and other layouts have envelopes that you can open and read the contents inside. These sorts of elements all add a feeling of mystery to your albums and they should be used on some of your layouts to add you your readers enjoyment.

Here is a different scrapbooking idea. How about making an interactive layout with a circle that you can turn. Each time you turn the photograph, a different photograph shows up in the window. Here is how to do it.

Firstly you need to gather the photographs you want to use on the layout and decide which ones will go on the circle. You can use any amount of photos, but two, three or four photos is a good number, then the segments won't be too small to view.

Draw a circle on your cardstock with an area that will be adequate for the amount of segments you want to use. If you have chosen four photographs for instance, you will need to draw a circle and divide it into four segments in the same way you would divide a pizza. Draw a line down the center of the circle and another across dividing the cirle into four equal segments..

Cut each of your photographs to fit into a segment of your circle and make sure the focus point is in the middle of the circle on all the photographs. Now adhere your photographs to your cardstock with acid free glue. Make sure that you glue the photo's securely as this page will be touched a lot while people try to turn the wheel and you won't want your photographs to all off. Also make sure you make sure all your photographs are facing the same way, so they show up the right way around.

If you are using four photographs, you will want to cut out a window on your front page the size of a quarter of your circle. The best way to do this is using your craft knife. Use a brad in the middle of the circle to secure the circle of photo's to the back of your cardstock so that it matches up to the window. Punch a small hole with your punch for the brad to go through both the back circle and the front page.

Decorate the rest of your layout as you choose. You could even make the circle into a clock depicting time going by. There is just so much you can do with this idea so have fun.
